Dawson Shanahan invests in new machines to meet demand

Dawson Shanahan, one of the world’s leading specialists in precision engineering and cold forming, is continuing to expand its UK production facilities with the installation of a second Citizen GN-3200W high precision CNC lathe. Dawson Shanahan’s long term commitment to quality and service is helping to swell its order books and necessitating investment in new capital equipment to keep up with global demand for its products.

The Citizen GN-3200W twin spindle CNC lathe was a logical choice for Dawson Shanahan as it is compact, improving factory space utilisation, and highly productive. Coupled with a high-speed gantry loader, the machine can produce phenomenal work rates, improving both productivity and profitability.

The new machine is part of an on-going programme of investment and expansion, which underpins Dawson Shanahan’s long term goal to grow organically by at least 15% year on year. Key to this growth is the company’s export business to Europe, North America and the Far East, which currently accounts for around 85% of all orders.

Joint Managing Director, Les Reeves, commented, “Our customers have been impressed with the quality of output from our existing Citizen machine and we’ve been equally impressed with its reliability and precision, so much so that we are looking to install a third later in the year to meet growing business demand.”
