22 Mar Reducing waste throughout industry
The sustainable use of materials is something that we are extremely passionate about at Dawson Shanahan. It is no use being able to produce a fantastic product if the steps taken to reach that point are unsustainable and inefficient. Unfortunately this can be the case for many manufacturing and industrial processes.
The Zero-Win project, set to take place over a 5-year period, is aiming to examine how existing approaches and methods can be made more sustainable. In particular, Zero-Win encourages the exchange of by-products across manufacturing sectors so that the waste from one industry becomes raw material for another. This is a positive initiative that will help motivate whole industrial sectors to rethink their processes.
Here at Dawson Shanahan, we are proud to say that we are at the forefront of sustainable manufacturing technologies. Cold forming, a technique which has been at the heart of our service offering for 70 years, has saved our customers thousands of pounds in raw material costs. For more information, please click here.
