Toolroom Machinist

Location: Welshpool, Powys, Mid Wales

Role description:

An individual who has a exceptional eye for detail, who can correctly interpret engineering drawings/specifications and is capable of selecting, setting and operating a range of tool room machines to produce tooling to tight tolerances.

Job Responsibilities:

Set and operate manual or CNC lathes/manual milling machines

Read and correctly interpret engineering drawings

Use a range of measuring equipment to check components meet drawing specifications

Calculate machining speeds and feeds based on material and tooling used

Select appropriate work-holding devices and tooling for the task

Maintain a safe and clean work area

Can work as part of a team

Skills required:

Excellent mechanical reasoning skills

Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety

Good written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications:

Time served Apprenticeship or vocational training preferred

Experience working with tool room machine tools

Machine Operators

Location: Welshpool, Powys, Mid Wales

Dawson Shanahan are looking for Machine Operators to join us at Welshpool.

Role description:

Duties include loading, unloading and ensuring smooth running.

Working rotating shift patterns 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm.

Apprentices, university placement students and graduate interns

Location: Welshpool, Powys, Mid Wales

Dawson Shanahan offers apprentices, university placement students and graduate interns opportunities throughout the year to gain valuable hands-on experience in an engineering environment.

With a variety of tasks and responsibilities you can expect to be involved in activities that directly contribute to the success of the team. An industrial placement will also help you develop a better understanding of the day-to-day workings and processes of a busy engineering company.

Previous experience in an engineering environment is not necessary. Training and support will be provided.
